Gravity Roller Conveyors
Gravity Roller Conveyors
The cheapest - and perhaps the oldest - type of material handling system in the world, gravity roller conveyors are an excellent solution for moving rigid packages.
They are found everywhere; from Warehouses and packing/packing facilities, to accumulation end-units on almost every type of conveyor imaginable
Perhaps our most common usage for them is as a entry/exit extension for mezzanine floor conveyors, allowing packages to coast to a halt and "accumulate" prior to being removed by human operators
They are also used as output accumulation units for production machines and wrapping machines.
Whilst they CAN be formed into curves and loops, this is not always so successful, particularly in situations where different size/shape of packages are to negotiate the curve. It can lead to packages moving to the outside of the loop, potentially leading to jams.
They are also not as good at moving irregularly shaped or soft packages that can sag between the rollers.
Do NOT attempt to use these for transporting jelly !!
