The grapes are fed onto the rolling conveyor and are gently tumbled over along the conveyor allowing staff to inspect the produce and remove any which is sub-standard. Products are not damaged using this process, and these types of conveyors can be used for many other items such as potatoes, tomatoes, citrus fruits and many others. The rollers on this conveyor are UPVC grey plastic rollers, which have many advantages as they are easy to clean, washable, resistant to corrosion and low cost.
