Slat Top Chain Conveyor for handling boxed oil products

07-05-2024

Mobility Engineering recently provided a Slat Top Chain Conveyor for handling boxed oil products within a conveyor system. This conveyor facilitates the movement of boxes from the infeed section, where they are transported on an incline around a 90-degree section, up to the outfeed. The conveyor utilises acetal slats, which are securely attached to a base chain, enabling smooth movement. These slats are capable of bearing heavier loads, and their side-flexing feature allows the products to navigate around bends seamlessly. To support and guide the products effectively, wear strips are employed. Crafted from UHMW plastic, these strips not only prevent chain or belt movement but also minimize vibration, thanks to their high wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. For driving the chain, a 3-phase motor and gearbox are installed, enabling a speed of approximately 12 meters per minuteā€”a requirement specific to this application. Moreover, the frame and supports are constructed from stainless steel, ensuring durability and reliability in operation.
