About Us
Established in 1976 as a manufacturer of carbon brush holders, BGB began exporting in the early 1990s and now derives over 90% of its turnover from overseas markets. We design from concept, manufacture, and market niche engineering solutions, with a focus on high-quality rotary assemblies including slip ring assemblies, fibre optic rotary joints, and other rotary transmission devices. With two sites in Grantham (UK) and a second plant in Virginia (USA), BGB has earned a strong global reputation. Key European markets include Scandinavia, Spain, and Germany, where we are recognised as a market leader in rotary solutions for the renewable energy sector, particularly wind.
Our team continually pushes the boundaries of rotary technology—designing, prototyping, and manufacturing world-class solutions that support future-facing, sustainable applications such as renewable power and, more recently, electric vehicles. We embed Continuous Improvement and Circular Economy initiatives across the business and champion environmental education in our community through school challenges. Through revitalised apprenticeship schemes, we welcome school and higher-education leavers into roles across Manufacturing, Marketing, Purchasing, and Finance—nurturing the next generation of engineers. Quality, design excellence, long-term relationships, and a friendly, family feel have been our backbone since day one.
