For the past 10 years „Top Job“ has been identifying and rewarding personnel management in German mid-sized companies. Since its anniversary VIPA Gesellschaft für Visualisierung und Prozessautomatisierung mbH is among the employers who have been awarded and they received the seal of quality „Top Job“ from mentor Wolfgang Clement in the landscape park Duisburg. The hightech specialist for industrial automation technology provides a “professional home” for 150 highly qualified employees in Herzogenaurach. “For us it is important, to create for our employees an environment, where they enjoy working. We give them a lot of personal freedom, rather than to confine them”, says Bob Linkenbach, Sales director and head of corporate development. One part of this freedom is telework, where the employee has access to all relevant documents and information via intranet. They are able to work mainly from home and can stay with their families in a familiar surrounding. So the persons responsible can keep high potential employees, who are not willing to move to Franconia, at the company. VIPA got further plus points in the „Top Job“ analysis with its health management: besides common sports activities and a performance diagnostics paid by the company, there are presentations about balanced nutrition. VIPA was able to obtain a regionally well-know chef for the canteen, who attracts 80% of the employees with his high-quality meals to take their lunch there. VIPA successfully met the requirements of the scientific double-stage process of the institute for management and human resource management at the University St. Gallen. The core of the survey was the online questionnaire of all employees by the institute director Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch. In parallel the persons responsible for the companies participating provided information about their work. “On the one hand this award was a great confirmation of our work and a huge compliment from our employees, but on the other hand this seal of quality will help us to find new good personnel”, says CEO Wolfgang Seel. On average 359 employees work at the 94 best employers of the German mid-sized company. Nearly every third of the „Top Job“ companies 2012 is a family business. The fact, that among them are 14 world market leaders and 21 national market leaders proves that good employers are economically successful too.
