2000 Conveyors For GCS

UPM have been nominated preferred suppliers of belt conveyors to the GCS Group which includes major moulding companies Zeller Plastik; Obrist; UCP and Massmould who together now have over 2000 conveyors for automation of product transfer with integration to the moulding machine ensuring only perfect product is transferred so offering a fail safe solution. UPM custom engineer each belt conveyor to a detailed specification following on site meetings with the relevant GCS personnel resulting in dimensioned drawings using 3D mechanical solid modeling design software for creating 3D digital proto types using the design visualization and simulation of products. UPM invested circa £50k in the new software which includes assembly stress analysis allowing UPM to input driving loads; friction characteristics and dynamic components to run simulation tests to see how a product would work under real production conditions and this is then followed by intensive pre production testing at UPM to ensure the equipment is delivered to the respective site for PLUG AND GO operation. GCS has a strong foundation of six branded divisions each serving markets regionally and globally with an exhaustive range of closing and dispensing systems for standard and custom wide mouth closures for dry powdered beverages such as granulated coffee with additional areas of expertise including push-pull sports caps for carbonated and non carbonated soft drinks through to child resistant closures offering a one stop solution with turn-key project management including moulds and assembly machines. All aspects of manufacture are carried out in-house at UPM including fabrication; programming and control build allowing complete control of quality/inspection and maintaining delivery promises.
