Hi-Technology Group awarded for their Dedication to Training and Development programmes

The Hi-Technology Group took the honours at the Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2011 to winning the People and Skills Award ahead of strong competition at the gala awards evening on 9th November held at the Lancashire County Cricket Club. We were shortlisted in this category with 5 other companies. Mick Straw our Operations Manager attended a focussed judging session held at the ground of Manchester United FC and following success at the awards the judges said the Group won the award "for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to staff development and the bridging of industry skill gaps with strong evidence of engagement, open communication and a transparent recognition structure". Richard Brown, Operations Director, said on winning the award that "A manufacturing business is often viewed as "machinery in all its glory" and capital investment in plant and equipment is seen as the route to growth and sustainability. However, at the Hi-Technology Group we see human capital as our most important resource. Therefore, we invest continuously in training of all employees and where we are able we involve our customers and suppliers at our training sessions. This award is recognition of the training strategy we use to engage our employees".
