Solar Installation Already Paying Dividends

You may recall back in August, we announced the beginning of the installation of solar panels throughout the roof of our Dysart Road main factory in Grantham. We are pleased to announce that the work was completed near the end of September 2022 and is already providing BGB with fantastic electrical output and environmental and cost savings: "In the last three weeks we have generated over 7600kWh of electricity, a saving of over £2000, and a saving in CO2 of 1755kg. This represents 3.75% of our target for what we hope to generate as a minimum in the first year, so a very good start." said Keith Copeland, BGB's Continuous Improvement Implementer. The suggestion to fit solar panels came from our manufacturing staff as part of our Continuous Improvement suggestion scheme. Conlan Oliver and Mark Beard (pictured), both advocates of the project, were given the proud task of switching on the new installation.
