BASF introduces new catalyst and adsorbent for aromatic purification
23-10-2013
ISELIN, NJ, SEPTEMBER 5, 2013 -- BASF has introduced its newest catalyst and adsorbent for advanced aromatic purification – F24X. It replaces the F-24 catalyst without any needed modifications to customer equipment or operating conditions.
F-24X provides improved process unit economics through extended life and shortened start-up time through lower moisture. It offers excellent product quality and reliable performance in fixed bed purification of aromatics while effectively removing olefins that can contaminate downstream adsorption and catalytic units.
F24X can be used for the purification of benzene, toluene, xylene, cumene, kerosene, jet fuel and other petroleum and petrochemical process streams.
“F24X offers an economic purification solution for today’s petroleum and petrochemical processes,” said Bjorn Welander, BASF Global Business Manager, Mineral Adsorbents. “It provides longer bed cycles as a result of its high catalytic activity, high acidity, and unique surface chemistry as compared to F-24.”
