Advanced Handling are proud supporters of Tusk

27-07-2013

Tusk was formed in 1990 to halt the decline in Africa's natural heritage and find a way to combine the interests of people and wildlife alike. So far, Tusk have raised over £12 million for a wide range of projects across Africa which not only work to protect wildlife, particularly endangered species such as the African elephant, but also to help to alleviate poverty through sustainable development and education amongst rurual communities who live alongside wildlife. Tusk currently provides financial, logistical and practical support for a large portfolio of field projects spread across 17 African countries. This support includes the purchase of vehicles, aircraft, radio equipment, as well as the construction of primary and secondary schools, clinics, water improvement schemes, roads, buildings, bridges and airstrips. In addition, Tusk help to cover the direct costs of game scouts and wildlife management. Tusk view conservation as a long term investment, relying upon a partnership with key individuals and organisations that have a proven track record in conservation. It is an approach which has allowed Tusk to fully maximise its investment into the field whilst minimising its core operational and administrative costs. Since its formation, for every £1 donated, Tusk has been able, on average to commit 85p towards the projects in the field.
