Belt conveyor with metal detector
14-10-2015
Problem definition
The plastics and wood industries use machines such as granulators, shredders, or chippers to reduce material to smaller fragments. These machines can be severely damaged if the material contains any metal impurities. To prevent such damage, and related production downtime, the material should be checked for metal impurities while being fed in. If any metal is detected, the belt should be stopped and audible and visible warnings should be triggered.
mk Solution
mk has designed a belt conveyor with integrated flat-panel metal detector especially for this application, based on the GUF-P 2041. The metal detector is installed inside the conveyor body and it scans piece goods and bulk materials up to a height of 100 mm. If metal is detected the motor is stopped and a connected signaling unit issues a visual and audio warning. A lateral guide stops the material from falling and an additional PE strip located near the metal detector guides the product.Visit the AdaptTech Manufacturing Solutions Ltd website for more information on Belt conveyor with metal detector
