Flexible and affordable solutions combined with high quality personalisation capabilities
Videojet Technologies Inc. will present its affordable, high quality ink jet addressing and imaging systems at Ipex 2014, in the North Hall, Stand N3-B275, March 24 – 29. Among Videojet's highly modular systems on display will be the Videojet 4320 Ink Jet printer, the Videojet BX Series Binary Array Ink Jet printer and the Videojet Cheshire 7000 Series Transport Base, all three boasting smooth upgrade paths.
Limitless possibilities
The production speed of up to 525 feet/min on the 600 dpi Videojet 4320 Ink Jet printer makes it an ideal choice for the mailing, printing and newspaper industries. It is versatile, customisable and utilises USB data transmission for reliable data transfer. It can efficiently print basic 8-line addresses, but also apply promotional messages, coupons, graphics and add spot colour. The snap-in heads ensure ease of use and maintenance and the printer can be configured to print directly on webs or to add variable data in combination with continuous form laser printers.
Continuous graphics
A wide variety of jobs from addressing mail pieces to printing graphics and logos on difficult to print on substrates can be created quickly and reliably by the 967 feet/min Videojet BX6000 Series Binary Array Ink Jet printer. Thanks to its two-inch print band, a dual head configuration operating off a single print engine can print four continuous inches. Alternatively, the heads can be separated to print on different areas of the target piece. Fast drying inks enable printing on a broad range of porous and non-porous materials.
It was the perfect choice for PackPost, a leading mailing solutions provider based in Buckinghamshire, UK. The company supplies operations from large multinational blue chip companies to smaller businesses with brochure, carriers, polyfilm, envelope and postcard printing services. It runs an average of 1,500,000 packs per week. PackPost’s previous ink jet system could not keep up with customer demand and was unable to meet new client requests.
PackPost now has four Videojet BX systems installed and Trudy Marshall, Sales and Marketing Director comments: "Our production line is very time sensitive, being able to proof off-line will save two to three hours per job. We are no longer relying on production staff to set up a print sample and for our Data Client Service Team to proof copies with the customer. This enables production staff to concentrate on more important tasks to achieve mailing deadlines. Downtime is reduced and the single head also means less consumables, less setting up and less maintenance.”
Also being presented at Ipex is the Videojet Cheshire 7000 Series Transport Base, an innovative vacuum transport system optimising product feed and reducing vibrations even at high speeds. Ideal for in-plant printers and commercial mailing operations looking for ways to add functionality, reduce costs and improve productivity, the system is able to process a variety of media types and sizes efficiently and accurately at speeds of up to 45,000 pieces per hour when used with a high speed kit, or 30,000 pieces per hour as standard. Quick to set up, it features independent feeder speed and transport controls, plus automatic space control to increase speed and maintain media gap with minimal effort. A shaft-mounted encoder ensures accurate image placement to complement the choice of printer.
Jon Unwin, Graphics Sales Manager at Videojet, says: ”Our solutions are designed to smoothly integrate in any production line offering networking capabilities which enables offline PDF proofing. With sophisticated software, the systems produce high quality personalised print and can handle growing markets such as loyalty cards with encrypted data.”
The systems are supported by Videojet’s highly responsive customer service comprising of 100 sales and technical contact partners throughout the UK and Europe and a 24 hour hotline.
