Dual Fuel: Altogether better

Luxfer Gas Cylinders is proud to be working with The Hardstaff Group’s patented OIGI® (Oil Ignition Gas Injection) combustion Dual Fuel technology that enables the same engine to burn both compressed natural gas (CNG) and diesel fuel. CNG used in the exclusive Hardstaff system is contained in Luxfer carbon composite cylinders. Hardstaff’s OIGI technology is used to convert diesel engines to Dual Fuel engines. The key benefit of Dual Fuel over a dedicated natural gas engine is that the high thermal efficiency level of the diesel engine is retained since it is the diesel injector that ignites the gas. Hardstaff’s Dual Fuel technology is comprised of natural gas fuel containment in Luxfer composite cylinders, a gas injection system, a Dual Fuel engine control system and additional exhaust after treatment that regulates emissions and significantly reduces all regulated tailpipe pollutants. The result is a unique system that precisely controls natural gas and diesel injection, thus providing extremely efficient fuel use, improved fuel economy, reduced CO2 emissions and lower noise emissions, along with performance equivalent to that of the original diesel engine prior to conversion. The Hardstaff Dual Fuel system also permits 100% diesel operation in areas where natural gas is less readily available.
