The front glass plate of an emergency exit sign is bonded to the stainless steel frame using a DELO PHOTOBOND light-cured acrylate adhesive. Because of the weight of the sign, a strong mechanical bond is required, and traditional bonding methods such as silicones are 10 to 20 times weaker than an adhesive. The adhesive doubles as a barrier against moisture and foreign objects such as dust, dirt, cleaning solvents, etc. Using an adhesive also allows for optimum processing during the manufacturing cycle.
