Efficient and reliable control of an air system demands a comprehensive exchange of data between the master controller and the internal compressor controller. High performance and a large memory capacity are the main features of the industrial computer that is the heart of the HPC KAESER SIGMA AIR MANAGER. The master Profibus DP interface needs only a single cable for fast and safe exchange of large data volume with SIGMA CONTROL, the internal controller in the packaged compressor, which has a slave Profibus DP interface. The matched components of this automated system allow a far more sensitive, energy-saving and reliable air system control than conventional base-load sequencers with their limited rates of data transfer and processing. 30 Languages and Pressure Band Control Able to co-ordinate a compressed air system comprising up to 16 compressors, the SIGMA AIR MANAGER (SAM) uses an energy saving pressure band control that enables maximum system pressure to be reduced. This not only helps to keep operating costs to a minimum, but also reduces air losses from leaks and benefits the environment as a result of lower energy consumption. Furthermore, the SAM can display information in any one of 30 languages that is easily read from its 240 x 128 pixel screen. Visualisation basic Every SIGMA AIR MANAGER controller can present information on the compressed air system visually via an Internet browser using the standard SIGMA AIR CONTROL basic data visualisation system. Here you can read off the current operational state of the compressors, the status of the SIGMA AIR MANAGER operating panel, and maintenance and alarm messages. Visualisation plus (optional) The SIGMA AIR CONTROL plus data visualization system displays data from SIGMA AIR MANAGER's long-term memory on screen. This data includes graphic profiles of system pressure, air consumption, load/idle, compressor duty cycles and power consumption over a long period of time. All the operating hours’ counters can be read out to coordinate maintenance. Compressed air costs are immediately at hand with SIGMA AIR CONTROL; and compressed air audits simplify optimization of the air supply. SIGMA AIR CONTROL plus is available as an option or can be retrofitted in the PCMCIA slot.
