New Eriez® B-HC Electromagnetic Vibratory Feeders Offer Industry-Leading Capacity
Eriez® has expanded its B-series line of heavy-duty electromagnetic vibratory feeders with the introduction of four new high-capacity B-HC models. These feeders offer a remarkable 70% to 100% increase in capacity over previous models, delivering controlled amounts ranging from just a few pounds to an impressive 1,200 tons (1,089 metric tonnes) of bulk material per hour [based on sand at 100 lb/cu. ft (1.6 metric tonnes/cu. metre)], making them the widest capacity range feeders in the industry.
The B-HC range features an advanced electromagnetic drive with a robust rare earth permanent magnetic armature assembly. This innovative design applies power in both the forward and reverse motion of the feeder tray, providing precise linearity and control, unlike traditional attract-release systems. The coil-and-magnet assembly is encased in epoxy, protecting it from dust and moisture, eliminating coil movement, and significantly extending the feeder's operational life.
These feeders are equipped with a compact, energy-efficient AC control system that allows for precise, variable-speed feed rate control with accelerometer feedback. The design eliminates sliding and rotating components, enhancing both profitability and productivity by reducing power consumption and minimising maintenance needs.
The B-HC feeders are particularly suited to head-load applications beneath hoppers, where they efficiently meter bulk materials onto belt conveyors, screens, crushers, and elevators. Both standard and custom-engineered trays are available, with optional features such as dust covers, screens, and grizzlies, and trays can also be lined with abrasion-resistant steel or UHMW for extra durability.
The feeders offer base or suspended mounting options, with the flexibility to choose between undermount or overhead drive configurations. Rob Yandrick, Eriez’s Global Product Manager for Vibratory Equipment, highlights the success of the 65B-HC model, which has already been adopted by Washington Mills, a leading manufacturer of abrasive grains. Previously, Washington Mills needed to run their feeder at full capacity to meet material demands, but the 65B-HC achieves the same output while maintaining significant feed capacity in reserve.
The full range of high-capacity electromagnetic feeders will be officially unveiled at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL, the world’s largest mining event, which will showcase the latest industry innovations in Las Vegas from 24-26 September.
