Buxoplas is an abbreviation of Buxton Plastics and was started by James Alexander Mycock, his son James and his wife Audrey in 1967.

In a Buxton, small building in the Peak District town, the business moved into the manufacturing industry plastic-coating pump stands and coat hangers. The family business soon moved from Buxton to Tideswell.

They created their 1st factory in the old Bakehouse, where they diversified into the plastic extrusion business with the aid of James and Audrey’s sons; Ray and Steven.
